Survive The Apocalypse, Dominating The World

You can organize your base as you like

Name: Total Domination.
Type: Real-Time Strategy.
Publisher: Plarium
My rating: 4 of 5

Total Domination is a real-time strategy game in Facebook with standard features like any other real-time strategy game. But if you like the apocalypse and mutants enemy as the setting, then I'm sure you'll like this game.

The game starts with a brief explanation from the NPC character named as General Trevor Winters. He'll tell you the background story about what happen, and he also give you the missions. It's easy to leveling up in this game from level 1 to level 15. You even can reach level 15 in 1 hour if you keep construct and leveling up your buildings.

As this article's title suggest, the main reason of this game is to dominate the world. This game suggest you to attack and gain more experience. You can attack NPC's bases called Infestation or other players. Each attack will give you experience points and -- in some occasion -- spoils. You can get new military troopers or resources from the war spoils. Sometime it's an economically great advantage than create your own army.

Green is mine, red is another player I've raided to loot

Total Domination offers interesting research tree. Player needs to research them to unlock buildings and troops. So don't ever ignore the power of science!

Research. It will save you from apocalypse.

Comparing with other online strategy games, I found the element that hooked me into this game is the graphic. Creating cool troopers like Disintegrator that can make a black hole in enemy's troopers or even a Valkyrie, take them to attack infestation area full with mutans or other player's base, and waiting them home again with spoils of war are other excitement I got from Total Domination. Attack and win. Build great defense. Make world know your name. Welcome to Total Domination!

Going back to Blogosphere

I borrow this picture from Wikipedia. I'm sure it's free :p
How long I've been gone since the last post? Almost two years. And there are many changes happen in that time. Real life surely taking my passion away from blogging. But since the real life is calming down -- for now -- I guess I'll take a moment to come and post something here.

So, this is me, I'm back!

I've read my previous post and saw a Facebook game, Mystic Card. That day I really like to play it. Then I met another good game in Facebook and suddenly it's not that interesting anymore. I even forgot it exist as one of apps in my dusty Facebook apps list. Then suddenly I want to play it again. Unfortunately, Mystic Cards is no logger active. I guess this is a challenge and selection to show who is the stronger apps. If people stop playing an apps, then it will wither and died. I think that is what happen to this game.

One apps is gone, an no one will notice it if it's a little apps with only several thousand players. No one will notice the different if an old game disappear and the new, shiny games come in to fill the gap. Gameplay, graphic quality, musics, all of those elements are something to tied down players so they don't leave the game. But as world goes on, every gamers need something new and fresh. A game that cannot offer fresh and dynamic elements to its players will not stand the selection. Only the winner survive, and the loser will vanish.

I found a bunch of new games in this 2 years period. I'm still playing some of them nowadays. And I guess I'll never stop playing, as counsel of the wise said, "We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing."

It's just a serious player's blog. Thank you.

Sword Girls Deck Explanation

Sword Girls Online is starting their Closed Beta! I have a chance to try them and get addicted in no time. Well, at least for now. .Cute girls, swords, great artworks, easy to play, and also crafting are some of the features in this game. Maybe for some player it's lame and only sells good artwork and girls to attract gamers. But when I play this game, I feel it's worth to play.

A deck is something important in order to create a great gaming experience. When you play it for the first time, you have an option to choose what deck you want. There are four factions you can choose in this time:
  • Vita Faction. Choose this if you are defending type. Each card in this faction help each other to win the game. The best deck for newbie.
  • Academy Faction. A deck with some effective buff and debuff effects. Use them to control the game flow.
  • Crux Faction. Speaking about effects, this faction has a lot of them! Healing, defending, and also increase attack. It's great to use them alone with all their own faction cards or combine it with other factions to create a super deck!
  • Darklore Faction. If you like dark and vampiric character, then this faction is for you. This faction has the greatest debuff effect that can make your opponent panic when they're not ready.
There are three types of card that can be use to play:
  • Character. This card can be only one in each deck. Each card has live points (something with number and heart in bottom right). When this points gone to zero, you lose!
  • Follower. A follower is an army. Use them to attack your opponent's character of to sacrifice to save your own character.
  • Spell. You know what about spell, right? Just like another card game, it's an effect card to help you twisting the game flow or to ensure your winning.
The other cards are Material And Gift Card. These cards are ingredients to craft a card. You can get it by fighting with other players or going to dungeon. You ca have them from campsite by clicking the Lab Tab in the lobby.

I'll post more another time. Happy gaming, Folks!

Live On December 7th?

I hope it's true, it seems the Sword Girls Online will launching the long-awaited closed beta tomorrow! Yay!
LIVE!?
I haven't try this game in its open beta, but from what I saw until now, I guess this game will booming in next year. I've tried Alteil and from my experience, even it's a great game with great concept, it still have some lacks. One of them is Alteil's loading time. To those with very limited bandwith, Alteil is very unfriendly.I hope it not happen to Sword Girls Online.

Cute ladies and battles, what more can be expected to a male in front of their PC? With enough dose of fanservice, and good overall system, I think Sword Girls Online will get its famous name in no time - Just like in its original version.

Get ready all, because the girls with their swords will come and conquer your brain :D And if you want to know it, please go to this page.  Happy game forever, Folks!

Mystic Card: When Traditional Meets Modern

Mystic Card is a card game that inspired from Korean traditional card game known as Go-Stop with fantasy theme. Instead using those old Hanafuda cards, Mystic Card using a series of fantasy characters as the picture in the card. The objective of this game is to try to get 7 points first. Whoever get 7 points can have an advantage to choose either to o an attack to the opponent or to do Instant Win.

It seems it's difficult in the fist time, but when you get used to it, it will fell easy. You just have to play your card to get a pair with a card in the center. If you get a pair and then when the next draw the card makes another pair, the other will be yours. Honestly, I don't read the tutorial well. I just clicking those cards in the tutorial pop-up window. The best way to learn a game is to jump straight to the game it self, get lose, and learn it. So, after finishing the Basic tutorial, I start my journey and get my three strike losses! It'a a little bit sucks, but then I battle with AI and get some strike wins. When you lose, some of the money (not real money, of course) will be taken by your opponent, and vice versa. More winning means more money.

And this is the basic tutorial, Pals!

And here is the way you can get the points. I suggest to take Instant Win as soon as you get 7 points or more. In that way, you'll get fast money and don't have to suffer counter attack when you trying to attack.

Remember this, pal! It's from the advance tutorial.

There's no card or pack selection here. You don't have to arrange your deck to play. And when you try to play it, it will get you addicted in no time. The artworks are not too special, but they're enough to make me enjoy the game.

Me battle with an AI. And I win!

Oh, almost forgot this. It's a social game, so you need a Facebook account to play this. And here is the link. Enjoy your game ;-)

P.S: AI is so easy to handle.Make sure to drain their money and get as much as experience from them before fight a real player.

It's a Dragon Age!

Welcome to the Dragon Age! I've just tried this game. And my opinion is... well, it's quite average. In the first time I expect a stunning animation and maps and battles and more. But it turns into some average opening. All players start their journey in some place called Sanctum City, where you have to finish some easy quests and level up faster. It's as fast as you just need about 10 minutes to reach level 5. It actually a MMORTS game, but when I do one of the quests, I saw this.

Yes, I know this! It's a card game..... is it?

If you familiar with card game, then you'll recognize this interface as a card game interface. But it's not quite true. It's still Dragon Age, and it looks this is the battle scene. I expect to see a moving unit that battle each other, but, well, this fighting style is OK. I like card game, so I enjoyed this.

The story starts in a medieval-like world where the player starts to gain a title and land from the king. After you get a land, you need to defend yourself and make your people wealth (yeah, I know. What can you expect from MMORTS anyway?) And just like in some other MMORTS, you need to assign some heroes as your army's leader. You can increase your heroes status, too.

It's my first hero!

And how about the land? Just look this picture and tell it yourself.
It reminds me a little to Evony
Well, I have to admit it's more better than Evony. And another thing that makes me like this game is, of course, the art that looks splendid.

It's cute!

It's still beta version, so I understand when it feels slow and uneasy to login. It't a promising game.If you want to try it, please go visit this link. Enjoy your game!

Atlantica Goes To Facebook?

Be joy all my fellow gamers! For who to know about Atlantica Online but can't play it because it need client, then it's a great news for you (include me also)! I just get this news from this great site about this news. It seems migration to social media like Facebook is a new trend for game developers. Well, you can't blame them because they just trying to get some of your money while giving you the pleasure. It's worth I think. Look at those Zynga's game. It's all free, but in the same time they still can get a really huge amount of dollars by selling some special items to help the players to accelerate their game.

The era of all those clients and console game seems almost over. It's time to retreat to social media and web-based games! Yeah, that's it! Why you need to troubling your promising costumers with all those client programs and CDs when you can just give them what they want immediately?

I wonder when I can play Ragnarok in Facebook to. Hopefully soon.
